When Will Jesus Return?

The answer to when Jesus will return is not known by anyone except God the Father. Jesus himself said, “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Matthew 24:36, NIV). Therefore, anyone who claims to know the exact date or time of Jesus’ return is either mistaken or lying.

The book of Revelation also describes various events and judgments that will take place before and during Jesus’ return, such as the seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments, the rise and fall of Babylon, the battle of Armageddon, and the binding of Satan (Revelation 6–20).

Some of these signs and events have already happened or are happening now, while others are still in the future. Therefore, we can say that we are living in the end times, but we do not know how long they will last or when they will end. The Bible warns us not to be deceived by false predictions or calculations of dates, but to be ready and watchful for Jesus’ return at any time. Jesus said, “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come” (Matthew 24:42).
